I know Austin and the Surrounding Area.
Not everyone is looking for a $Million $Dollar $Home!Austin is a very diverse area, and offers something for everyone.Based on your needs and desires, we can find the right solution for you and your family.
Austin is the State Capital of Texas, and home to the University of Texas. The Texas Colorado River runs through town, forming Town Lake and Lake Austin. It is picturesque, full of activity, and is being developed with new condos and apartments, as well as remodeled older homes. The Balcones Fault runs North/South through Austin, dividing the landscape into hills to the west, and plains to the east.
The area on the east side of Austin is more level, and very fertile. This area has been slower to develop, since much of it has been used for farming and ranching.
The rolling hills on the west side of Austin provide beautiful, scenic homesites overlooking hills, rivers and lakes. The farther west you go, the more rugged the terrain. The chain of Highland Lakes was formed by the LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority) as a flood control project to protect Austin and the surrounding area from severe flooding.
Years ago, Lake Travis was mostly popular for sailors and retirees.Over the past 10 years or so, Lake Travis has become popular for all ages and all activities.Master Planned Communities, such as Steiner Ranch, have been developed that include homes, apartments, schools, parks, golf courses, and shopping. No need for those everyday commutes into town.
As you go farther west, the scenery becomes even more awesome and less populated - although growth is happening in all directions. As people discover the amenities of living in the country, the communities, schools, shopping and employment opportunities are expanding along with the population. Many developments include acreage lots, and provisions for horses.
North and South:
Many of the larger, high-tech employers have located towards the outskirts of Austin, but close to the IH-35 interstate.Residential communities continue to flourish in these areas to accommodate families that like to live close to work, as well as frequent travelers.
